Oohs and Aahs! This is a pretty amazing Regency style costume.  It always manages to get many oohs and aahs in the shop. Professionally made early 1800's costume was made in the 1940s...for a play or movie?  I wish I knew more of it's history.  However, I do know that the workmanship is simply superb. Off the shoulder bodice is fitted and boned and it is made with tiers of chantilly lace.  Empire waist is decorated with a satin ribbon and a cluster of grapes.  Floor sweeping skirt drapes beautifully from waist pleats.  Long back zip. ERA: 1940's DESIGNER: No tags SIZE: X-small,  about a 0.  Bust up to 34",  empire waist 23", hips open,  length from shoulder to hem 59". Dress does not zip up all the way on my size 4 mannequin. COLOR: Black and purple FABRIC:  Chantilly lace and heavy weight satin (feels like a rayon/silk blend). CONDITION: Excellent. No holes, stains, or discolorations.
